A local student at Fairland High School named Steeler, after his father's favorite football team, recently lost his dad to cancer. Steeler's teammate Aiden Porter thought he would try to help get Steeler and his family to the Steelers playoff game in Kansas City by making a post on social media. After the post went viral, Steelers player (and former UK player) Benny Snell reached out and hooked Steeler and his family up with tickets to the game. The youth basketball league and Fairland community have also come together to take care of airfare and also a hotel stay for the family. Read more about the story here.
