The last episode of Friends aired over two decades ago, but Courteney Cox still remembers the pre-show ritual she and her co-stars did before every live show.
The actress, who played Monica Geller on the beloved series that ran from 1994 to 2004, attended the annual Inc. 5000 conference and gala over the weekend and spoke about the tradition she and co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, and Matthew Perry kept alive for 10 seasons.
"We’d get in a huddle and we would say, 'Alright, everybody! Good luck!' And we'd give each other a hug and a high five. Friends was shot in front of a live audience, and that was a whole different thing. Now, I do things that are filmed."
People mentioned that the cast reunited in 2021 for Friends: The Reunion show, and all the magic returned to the screen as if "no time had passed, according to LeBlanc, who played Joey Tribbiani.
"We pick up right where we left off," he assured.
Perry, who played Chandler Bing on the show, passed away in October 2023 and is fondly remembered by his former Friends co-stars. Earlier this year, Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay, revealed that she found a note Perry left her years ago in a cookie clock prop he gifted her.
"Matthew gave that to me at the end of our last episode. I recently found the note that he had in it for me. I hadn't opened it up or looked inside of it, but yeah, he did. He had a note in there, and I forgot about it. Timing is everything."
