Prince Harry Says Becoming A Dad 'Changed Everything' For Him

Like most first time parents, Prince Harry felt the arrival of his son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, changed his life in a number of surprising ways. While chatting with WaterBear, a free, interactive streaming platform that educates viewers about the environment, the Duke of Sussex shared one of the biggest ways Archie impacted his perspective on life.

"The moment you become a father everything really does change because then you start to realize, well, what is the point in bringing a new person into this world when they get to your age and it's on fire?" Harry said. "We can't steal their future. We really can't. That's not the job we're here for. I've always believed that hopefully we can leave the world in a better place than when we found it."

WaterBear shared a clip of their video chat with Prince Harry on Instagram, writing: "We had the opportunity to talk with Prince Harry about conservation, his work as the President of [Africa Parks Network] and the importance of storytelling to help drive meaningful action. It’s a complete must see. We can’t wait for you to watch, tune in and enjoy!"

During the conversation, the Duke of Sussex spoke about his personal love nature, as well, which he is trying to impart on his son. Prince Harry even described "being in nature" as the "most healing part of life." A source close to the Sussex family recently told People that Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, "spend hours outside" with their son. This makes them all "vey happy," according to the source, and Archie is "thriving" as a result.
