Walmart Dropping Its $35 Minimum For Free Shipping This Holiday Season

Two months ago, Walmart launched a new membership program for their customers called Walmart+. Since its launch, Walmart+ members needed to spend a minimum of $35 on their online orders to snag free delivery. As we head into the holiday season, however, an exciting change is coming to Walmart+.

Beginning on Friday (December 4), the $35 minimum spend will no longer be required to get free shipping through Walmart+. This means that Walmart+ members will receive free next-day and two-day shipping on items shipped by Walmart no matter their order total.

“It feels like a life hack is needed now more than ever, and Walmart+ is here to help,” chief customer officer for Walmart Janey Whiteside said in a press release. With major retailers fearing shipping delays as we approach Christmas, knowing that shipping is free definitely feels like a holiday gift in itself.

"No other membership allows customers across the country to get everything from gingerbread cookies and eggnog to holiday decorations and toys delivered for free as soon as the same day," Whiteside added. "Walmart+ is designed to make life easier–giving customers an option to not have to sacrifice on cost or convenience."
