Here's When Meghan Markle Will Bring Baby Archie To America

The Duke & Duchess Of Sussex Pose With Their Newborn Son

Though it's still unclear whether Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's newborn son will have dual U.S-U.K. citizenship, the Duchess of Sussex is reportedly excited to bring little Archie home to the United States ASAP. Archie is sure to be surrounded by (royal) family members in England, however, Meghan wants him to feel just as connected to her mom, Doria Ragland, as well as the place she grew up.

“For Meghan, it’s just as important for Archie to learn about her family history as it is for him to learn about his royal ancestors, so she plans to go on a trip to L.A. with him once she’s comfortable taking him on a plane,” a source revealed to Us Weekly.

There are no standard guidelines for how old a baby must be to travel via airplane, though some airlines will insist on waiting at least two weeks after the baby's birth. The flight from London to Los Angeles is a long one, though, so Meghan might be planning on waiting until Archie is a little bit older.

Meghan and Harry are already introducing Archie to his American roots. Doria was on hand for little Archie's birth, though she's since traveled back to the States. Meghan's bestie, Jessica Mulroney, is currently visiting Archie in London, as well.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were planning an official tour of the U.S. that was postponed after Meghan became pregnant. Maybe Archie will make his first appearance on a royal tour in his mom's home country. Archie's cousin, Prince George, went on his first royal tour in Australia at just 8 months old, so, it's definitely possible. How cute would that be?
